Kosher Culinary
By Adam Carter

All vegetables are inspected for bugs or insects. All dairy foods are kept separate from the meat of an animal. This necessitates the use of two kitchens and separate plates. All fish must have fins to be considered clean and kosher. No unclean animals or sea food is used. These are but a few of the kosher food guidelines.

Jewish parents are quite capable of passing down theses rules to their children and indeed they have done so for thousands of years. That is why there are still foods that can be bought that are certifiably kosher. Because there is a growing interest and need for authentic kosher restaurants in the Jewish communities, the interest in kosher culinary cooking has grown. There are a few kosher cooking classes available, but if you would like to get a degree in kosher culinary cooking to become a professional chef, you had to go to Israel to take the courses. That is until now. A new career cooking school has opened up in Brooklyn. It just happens to be a kosher cooking school and has already had many students in attendance.

The Center for Kosher Culinary (CKCA) is less than a year old and was founded by Dr. Elka Pinson in July 2008. The Center for Kosher Culinary is a professional culinary arts school that offers students courses in preparing kosher foods. It is the only career cooking school of its kind in the United States. All faculty members are familiar with kosher cooking, are intimately familiar the techniques that they teach in kosher food preparation as well as all ingredients used for the course are strictly kosher.

The teaching on how to use kosher culinary techniques and guidelines is a unique area of skill that is has long been missing in the career culinary school courses offered in America. This field is not offered in even the most prestigious cooking schools here in the United States. At the CKCA, kosher culinary cooking classes are taught in 6 week full time sessions or 12 week sessions if you are only able to attend classes part time. There are 8 sessions of kosher culinary cooking classes offered each year.

The course concentrates on how to use kosher culinary cooking skills when baking or making pastries, Far Eastern dishes, French cuisine, Italian kosher cooking and healthy vegetarian dishes. The art of how to select and choose kosher wines to serve along with these dishes is also learned by the students at CKCA. You can find out more about this school by going to their website.

Whether you are a follower of the Jewish faith or whether you just want to expand your ability of cooking to new avenues; http://kosher-culinary-schools.com offer you information regarding this style of food.
